Best Times to Post on Social Media in 2026 (Platform-by-Platform)

Stop guessing when to post. Here's the data on optimal posting times for every major platform.

April 9, 2026 1 min read

Timing your posts correctly can double your reach without changing a single word of your content. Here's the breakdown by platform for 2026.

Bluesky

Bluesky's most active hours are 8–10 AM and 7–9 PM Eastern. The platform skews toward tech workers and early adopters who check feeds during commutes and evenings. Weekdays outperform weekends significantly.

Twitter/X

12–3 PM on weekdays is peak engagement. Lunch scrolling is real. Wednesday and Thursday tend to outperform Monday. Avoid posting after 8 PM — the algorithm deprioritizes late content.

Discord

There's no feed algorithm to beat — just post when your community is online. Check your server's analytics for peak online hours. Generally 6–10 PM local time for your audience.

Mastodon

Morning posts (7–9 AM) perform best on Mastodon's chronological timeline. The federated nature means timing matters more here than on algorithmic platforms.

**LinkedIn** (coming soon to SocialMate)

Tuesday–Thursday, 8–10 AM and 12 PM are peak B2B hours. Never post on weekends.

The real answer: use your own data

SocialMate's analytics page shows your personal best posting days and times based on your actual published posts. Your audience is unique — use that data instead of generic guides.

The best time to post is consistently. Pick a schedule and stick to it for 30 days before optimizing.
