Enki Truth Mode: Paper Trading with Real Market Data Before You Risk Real Money

Truth Mode runs live momentum and mean reversion signals on real market data in a paper trading environment. Here's why it matters before going live.

Why Trade Paper Before Trading Real

Every trading strategy looks great on paper. Backtested returns are always impressive. Then you go live and the strategy performs 40% worse than the backtest.

The gap between backtest and live is where most traders lose money.

Enki's Truth Mode is designed to close that gap.

What Truth Mode Does

Truth Mode runs live Enki signals — momentum and mean reversion — on real Yahoo Finance OHLCV data, in a paper trading environment, every 15 minutes.

You see:

  • Real-time signals based on actual market conditions
  • Equity curve with SPY overlay (how you're doing vs the benchmark)
  • Per-strategy stats with a target of 50 trades for statistical validity
  • Truth Mode-specific trade history with FIFO P&L calculation
  • The 50-Trade Rule

Truth Mode sets a target of **50 trades per strategy** before you draw conclusions. Less than 50 trades is statistically thin — you could be seeing noise, not signal.

Once you've watched a strategy run 50+ paper trades, you have a real sample to evaluate.

    Sanity Warnings

Truth Mode shows explicit warnings when:

  • You have fewer than 10 trades (data too thin for conclusions)
  • A strategy has been active less than 1 week (insufficient time sample)
  • Signals are correlating too heavily (Correlation Guard: Pearson > 0.85 blocks correlated positions)
  • Before Going Live

Truth Mode is the last checkpoint before live trading. If a strategy doesn't perform in Truth Mode with real data, it won't perform live. Simple as that.
