RSS and Blog Import: How SocialMate Turns Your Content Into Social Posts

# RSS and Blog Import: How SocialMate Turns Your Content Into Social Posts

You're already creating content. Your blog posts, newsletter issues, and articles are sitting there — why not automatically turn them into social media posts?

SocialMate's RSS import feature does exactly that.

What Is RSS Import?

RSS is a standard feed format that most blogs and publishing platforms (WordPress, Ghost, Substack, etc.) generate automatically. SocialMate can read your RSS feed and pull in new content as it's published.

How to Set It Up

1. Find your RSS feed URL (usually `yoursite.com/feed` or `yoursite.com/rss`)

2. In SocialMate, go to **RSS Import** in the sidebar

3. Paste your feed URL and save

4. Choose how you want imported posts formatted — headline only, excerpt, custom template

5. Select which platforms receive the auto-generated posts

What Gets Created

When SocialMate detects a new item in your feed, it creates a draft post (or schedules it automatically, depending on your settings) with:

Why This Saves Hours

If you publish a blog post every week, that's 52 pieces of content you'd normally have to manually share across platforms. With RSS import, it happens automatically the moment the post goes live.

You stay focused on writing great content. SocialMate handles the distribution.

YouTube RSS Too

SocialMate also supports YouTube channel RSS feeds — no API key required. Connect a channel and pull in video content to promote across your social platforms automatically.
