How to Share Every Newsletter Issue on Bluesky, LinkedIn and Mastodon

Your newsletter already has an RSS feed. Turn each issue into three social posts without copying and pasting between five apps.

Find your feed

Almost every newsletter platform publishes an RSS feed of your issues:

  • Substack: your publication address followed by /feed, like yourname.substack.com/feed.
  • Ghost: your site address followed by /rss/.
  • Beehiiv, Buttondown and most others: look for RSS in your publication settings.
  • Import the issue as a draft

In SocialMate, open RSS import, paste the feed address and fetch it. Pick the latest issue and import it. It becomes a draft with the title, the start of the issue and the link.

Then rewrite it. The opening of an issue is written for subscribers; the post is for people who have never heard of you.

    Three posts per issue

  • The launch post, the day it goes out: the one idea from the issue that someone would forward, and the link.
  • A thread of the best lines, a day later. SocialMate posts each part as a reply to the one before on Bluesky, Mastodon and X when you post it right away.
  • A reminder two or three days later, with a different angle and the same link.
  • Write for each platform

  • LinkedIn: the first two or three lines show before "see more", so put the point there. Links are fine.
  • Bluesky: 300 characters, and the link turns into a preview card.
  • Mastodon: add a couple of hashtags, since many posts there can only be found through hashtags.
  • Keep the subscribe ask going

Between issues, campaign mode rotates a few "why subscribe" posts on the days you pick until an end date, so the ask never goes quiet.

SocialMate does not send your newsletter or manage your subscribers. It handles the social side, free for up to 250 posts a month to Bluesky, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Discord and Telegram. X needs the Pro plan.
